
Balderton Capital leads $50m round for VOI Technology
Balderton Capital has led a $50m series-A funding round for Swedish electronic scooters manufacturer VOI Technology.
LocalGlobe, Vostok New Ventures, Raine Ventures, Jeff Wilke, Cristina Stenbeck, Keith Richman, Justin Mateen, Spencer Rascoff, Nicolas Brusson and Sebastian Knutsson also participated in the round.
VOI launched in Stockholm in August 2018 but now has a presence in Madrid, Zaragoza and Malaga in Spain.
Proceeds from the series-A funding round will be used to enter new European markets.
Previous funding
Vostok New Ventures invested $3m in the business earlier this year.
Company
VOI manages a fleet of electrically powered scooters distributed in urban centres. The vehicles can be hired through an app to provide an affordable and sustainable way to commute.
