Providence buys OpusCapita
Providence Equity Partners has acquired OpusCapita Solutions from Finnish postal service Posti Group.
OpusCapita is the digital payment subsidiary of Posti Group and has eight locations in Europe and the US, employing 350 people and generating sales of approximately €64m in 2018.
The sale follows Posti's strategy of focusing on postal services. It divested two other subsidiaries to private equity in 2017, selling a minority stake in SmartPost to Baltcap's Fitek in March, and OpusCapita's outsourcing business to Longship in November.
Posti hired AGC Partners to explore the sale of the digital payment subsidiary in January, according to Unquote sister publication Mergermarket.
Company
OpusCapita was established in 1984 and is headquartered in Helsinki. It processes payments for 3,000 customers globally and employs 350 people.
