Industri Udvikling buys minority stake in Wila
Danish private equity firm Industri Udvikling has acquired a 40% stake in Danish industrial machinery manufacturer Wila.
The investment will be drawn from Industri Udvikling IV, a DKK 500m fund that close in November 2014.
The GP expects to make two more investments from this vehicle and will then begin investing from Industri Udvikling V, which will hold a first close before the summer break. The new vehicle will be slightly larger, but target investments in a similar range to the previous fund.
Industri Udvikling's initial investments are typically in the region of DKK 5-40m, in return for a 25-50% stake.
Wila generated EBITDA of DKK 18.5m from DKK 108m in its most recent financial year.
The company plans to internationalise with its new investor's support and could use either organic or inorganic measures to achieve this.
The transaction was structured as an all equity buyout in which management retained the majority stake.
Company
Wila was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Silkeborg. It manufactures machinery for the food, pharmaceuticals and measurement industries, and employs 75 people.
