Verdane acquires Caia Cosmetics

According to Swedish tech website DI Digital, the GP paid SEK 200m for its stake, the equivalent of €19.5m, giving the company a valuation of SEK 400m.  

The founders will remain with the company.

The deal is the GP's 10th investment from its SEK 3bn Verdane Edda fund, which closed in March 2018 and has recently invested in companies such as Conscriptor, Max Manus, and Evondos. The vehicle invests up to SEK 500m in high-growth Nordic companies in the software and consumer internet sectors. 

With the transaction, the GP plans to expand the company's product offering and expand into new countries.

The GP said in a statement that Caia was one of the fastest growing beauty brands in the Nordic region. 

Company
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Stockholm, Caia is an online retailer of makeup and accessories. It was founded by social media influencer Bianca Ingrosso, her manager Vanessa Lindblad, alongside Mikael Snabb and Jesper Matsch. The company has sold 600,000 products in 30 countries and, according to DI Digital, generated revenues of SEK 55m in 2019.
