
Waterland buys Modstrøm Danmark
Growth investor Waterland Private Equity has acquired a majority stake in Danish electricity supplier Modstrøm Danmark.
According to Danish news website Finans, the GP paid around DKK 200m for the business, the equivalent of €27m.
The company's CEO and co-owner, Anders Millgaard, will continue in his role, while other shareholders leave the business.
The GP plans on accelerating Modstrøm's growth through consolidation and by providing hands-on strategic and operational support.

Founded in 2008 and based in Copenhagen, Modstrøm Danmark sells electricity to more than 75,000 private and business customers throughout Denmark. In 2019, Modstrøm generated revenues of DKK 257m, and an EBITDA of DKK 30m. It employs around 130 staff, according to Danish website Finans.
