VC-backed Spacemaker sold to Autodesk for $240m
Norwegian company Spacemaker, backed by VCs Northzone, Atomico, Obos, NREP and Round Hill Ventures, has been acquired by California-based listed software company Autodesk for $240m.
The deal comes a year and a half after the startup raised a $25m series-A round co-led by Northzone and Atomico in June 2019.
The acquisition will help Autodesk to offer a platform to drive user-centric automation – powered by artificial intelligence – and accelerate outcome-based design capabilities for architects. The transaction is expected to close later this year or early next year.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close during Autodesk's fourth quarter of its financial year, ending 31 January 2021.
