Ratos buys majority stake in Vestia Construction Group
Swedish private equity firm Ratos has acquired a majority stake in Vestia Construction Group.
Ratos said in a statement that the acquisition was "an excellent complement to our existing construction company, Hent, both geographically and in terms of expertise".
Following the transaction, the GP will own 63% of the company; the management and other key individuals will own the remainder. The transaction will be financed through the GP's own funds.
Ratos said Vestia had recorded average annual growth of 40% over the past five years, with an adjusted EBITA margin of 6% for the 2019/20 financial year. The company was expected to reach approximately SEK 750m (€74m) in revenues for the current financial year.
Vestia CEO Christian Wieland said the company had for some time "been looking for a new principal owner who can take an active part in the company's continued growth".
Wieland and other members of Vestia's management will continue in their current positions. Vestia will be operated as an independent company within Ratos.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
