Early-stage investor Antler closes Nordic fund on €29.6m
Early-stage venture capital firm Antler has closed its first Nordic-focused fund on тЌ29.6m.
The fund was oversubscribed and counted among its LPs UK-based VC Draper Esprit, Norwegian investment firm Kistefos, Danish state-backed fund Vækstfonden, and Norwegian state fund Investinor.
Antler's new fund will focus on seed-stage tech companies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. It has already backed around 60 Nordic companies, including Norwegian startup Plaace, a data-driven platform that matches retail properties and tenants; Swedish startup Teemyco, a virtual office software provider to improve collaboration between colleagues working remotely; and Skyqraft, a Sweden-based AI startup that automatically detects powerline equipment issues.
The VC firm was established four years ago, is headquartered in Singapore, and has invested in more than 200 companies to date.
The company itself is backed by private investors and in February 2020 announced that it had raised $75m from Schroders, Johan H Andresen's investment vehicle Ferd, and investment house FinTech Collective. The company is also backed by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, VC firm Canica International and Japanese credit card issuer Credit Saison.
