AnaCap exits Oona Health in EUR 302m sale to Topdanmark
AnaCap has exited Danish health insurance provider Oona Health to local insurance group Topdanmark for a 4x money multiple and 40% IRR.
Topdanmark acquired the company for DKK 2.25bn (EUR 302m), according to a statement. The transaction is expected to close in 2023.
AnaCap acquired the company in May 2019 via AnaCap Financial Partners III, which closed in February 2016 at EUR 850m. The fund deploys equity tickets in the range of EUR 40m-EUR 150m per platform.
The deal is the third exit from the fund.
Oona Health's biggest brand is Dansk Sundhedssikring, with the parent company taking a 16% health insurance market share in Denmark, according to a statement from buyer Topdanmark.
The company is formerly known as SundhedsGruppen.
Topdanmark said that the acquisition aligns with its strategy to focus on non-life insurance that creates profitable growth in its core business.
Under AnaCap's ownership, Oona grew at a five-year CAGR of 60%, according to the sponsor's press release.
