Northzone invests $3m in Soundrop
Northzone has invested $3m in Norwegian music discovery and sharing service Soundrop.
Northzone general partner Torleif Ahlsand said the service offers artists and labels an opportunity to build brand value, while providing users with an enhanced solution for consuming music.
Soundrop is available as an app within Spotify, in which Northzone is one of the early lead investors.

Soundrop, launched in 2011, offers jukebox-like "listening hangouts" on music streaming platform Spotify. Customers are invited to join listening rooms, adding a social element to the consumption of music. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
People
General partner Torleif Ahlsand worked on the deal for Northzone and will join Soundrop's board. Inge Sandvik is CEO and co-founder of Soundrop.
