
Maj Invest acquires 85% of Svendsen Sport
Danish SME-focused GP Maj Invest has acquired an 85% stake in sports fishing equipment seller Svendsen Sport as part of a management buyout.
The deal includes Svendsen's German sister company DAM Manufaktur International and sees founder and CEO Lars Svendsen continue in his role, as well as retaining a minority stake in the company.
Maj Invest's capital will be used to support further international expansion for Svendsen and DAM, which have sales offices in 10 European countries, but are mainly active in northern Europe.
The deal is Maj Invest's first private equity investment of 2015.

Svendsen Sport and DAM Manufaktur are providers of sports fishing equipment, based in Denmark and Germany, respectively.
Gadstrup-headquartered Svendsen was founded in 1977, and acquired 140-year-old DAM in 2003.
