Nordic Capital acquires Samport Payment Services
Nordic Capital has acquired Swedish payment company Samport Payment Services through Nordic Capital Fund VIII, as a bolt-on for payments business Euroline.
The GP used Cidron Superpay, a subsidiary of its eighth fund, to complete the deal.
Katarina Janerud, communications manager at Nordic Capital, told unquote" the deal was a small acquisition made through the holding newco Cidron Superpay, which signed the SEK 2.2bn purchase of Swedish payments business Euroline from SEB in May.
The GP expects to close the Euroline transaction before the end of Q4 this year, but because it has yet to be finalised, the Samport bolt-on was made through Cidron.
The deal will help accelerate international expansion for Samport, which provides payment products such as portable payment card machines.
Cidron Superpay is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nordic Capital Fund VIII and focuses on investments in the payment sector.
