
Vaaka Partners sells EMC Talotekniikka to Imtech
Vaaka Partners has sold its majority stake in Finnish technical services provider EMC Talotekniikka to Dutch trade buyer Royal Imtech.
The acquisition is yet to be approved by Finnish competition authorities and is expected to complete in Q1 2013.
Vaaka Partners acquired a majority stake in the company in 2007. Keskinäinen Eläkevakuutusyhtiö Etera (Etera Mutual Pension Insurance Company) and Suomen Teollisuussijoitus Oy (Finnish Industry Investment Ltd) held the remaining stake alongside the company's management.
Royal Imtech is a Dutch technical services provider based in Gouda, with an annual turnover of €700m. In May 2012, Imtech acquired British IT systems solutions provider Capula from Dunedin. The deal was valued at more than £33m, more than 7x the company's 2011 operating profit.

EMC Talotekniikka operates in the fields of building systems, technical services, pipeline renovation and products & prefabrication. The company employs 580 people in 11 branches across Finland. Its annual revenues amount to €100m.
