Maj Invest sells Kelsen Group to Campbell Soup
Maj Invest has sold Danish baked snacks maker Kelsen Group AS to Campbell Soup.
Campbell plans to operate Kelsen as a standalone business based in Denmark, and aims to expand into higher-growth spaces including China.
Maj acquired 55.9% of Kelsen in 1984, via its LD Equity 1 fond.
Company
Headquartered in Nørre Snede, Denmark, Kelsen is a producer of baked snacks. Kelsen's primary brands include Kjeldsens and Royal Dansk, and its products are sold in 85 countries.
The company is also based in the US, Hong Kong and Russia – its most important export markets.
Kelsen employs 366 people. The company generated $180m in net sales during 2012.

Denise Morrison is Campbell's chief executive officer. Luca Mignini is the president of Campbell International.
