
Sentica Partners picks up Func Food
Sentica Partners has acquired a majority stake in sports nutrition company Func Food Finland.
Following the transaction, key personnel within the company will continue as minority owners.
Sentica plans to grow Func Food via new product categories, consumer segments and distribution channels as well as a focus on new export markets. The GP will also look at potential add‐on acquisitions.
Sentica said strong growth in the European nutrient products sector and the increase in lifestyle‐based consumption were key drivers behind the investment.

Func Food provides nutrition products, healthy snacks and protein drinks for athletes and trainers sold in general retail, health food and speciality stores as well as kiosks and fitness centres.
Func Food has 4,000 points of sale in Finland. In 2013, the company's sales increased by more than 40%, reaching €17m.
