Seed Capital invests $1.5m in Nordic Power Converters
Danish VC Seed Capital has invested $1.5m in Copenhagen-based power supply developer Nordic Power Converters (NPC).
The capital injection was made alongside several business angels, and was announced alongside a deal with compatriot lighting manufacturer HeSaLight to supply 50,000 power converters for LED lighting.
NPC will use part of the fresh funding to hire more staff, in order to help the company prepare for a full launch of its products.
For Seed Capital, the growth investment comes hot on the heels of the VC leading a €3.4m series-A for Danish deal aggregator Bownty in mid-October.
Company
Based in Herlev, west of Copenhagen, NPC makes small and light power converters called very-high-frequency switch-mode power suppliers (VHF SMPS).
Founded in 2014, the company originated from the Danish Technical University and aims to produce long-lasting, efficient and aesthetic power converters for use in applications such as LED lighting.
