
LVP leads $1.2m seed round in Shark Punch
London Venture Partners has led a $1.2m seed round for Finnish game and software developer Shark Punch.
LVP's investment was made from its seed fund, while other investors in the round included DN Capital, Reaktor Polte and angel investors.
The fresh funding will help fund the full launch of Shark Punch's game discovery platform, Playfield.io.
Company
Founded in Helsinki in 2014, Shark Punch began as a game studio to develop the company's only title, The Masterplan.
The company has recently focused on the development of Playfield.io, a social platform for gamers to discover and discuss games.
The company employs a team of seven and has offices in Helsinki and San Francisco.
People
Paul Heydon is a partner with London Venture Partners and Nenad Marovac is the managing partner of DN Capital. Jiri Kupiainen is the CEO of Shark Punch.
As part of the new capital injection, Heydon will join Share Punch's board of directors.
