
Initial and Open Ocean in $2.3m round for Oppex
Initial Capital and Finnish VC Open Ocean Capital have led a $2.3m round for Helsinki-headquartered public tender search engine Oppex.
The investment from London-based Initial Capital and Open Ocean pushes the total capital raised by Oppex to more than $4m.
Oppex announced the round at the Slush tech startup conference in Helsinki, where the company was selected as a top-50 growth-stage and top-25 B2B company among the 1,600 startups participating in the event.
Previous funding
The Finnish startup first raised funding in 2013, when it received a €240,000 seed round from Espoo-based Veturi Venture Accelerator. Oppex raised an additional $1.5m in November 2013 from Alma Media, Veturi and Reaktor Ventures.

Headquartered in Helsinki, Oppex is a search engine for companies to find public tenders to bid on. The search engine covers tenders made by public procurers globally for goods and services, including areas such as healthcare, security and construction.
