
Industrifonden et al. back Actiwave
Industrifonden and SEB Venture Capital have invested SEK 15m in Swedish audio technology developer Actiwave.
SEB Venture Capital is the company's current owner and contributed SEK 2m to the round, with the remaining SEK 13m coming from Industrifonden. The company will use the money to launch its product.
Industrifonden told unquote" it was attracted to the potential of Actiwave's technology to fill the gap in audio technological advances in small devices. The GP said that whereas display technology had improved vastly in recent years, sound had been left behind. Industrifonden was introduced to the investment opportunity by SEB, although the GP was already familiar with the business.

Actiwave was established in 2007 on the back of research conducted at Linköping University. Based in Stockholm, it has developed a technology that improves the sound quality in small speakers. It plans to license its product out to manufacturers of small devices including mobile phones, tablets, TVs and laptops.
