Nord sells Barents Naturgass
Norwegian GP Nord Kapitalforvaltning has sold its 23.5% stake in natural gas business Barents Naturgass to Broadview Holding.
The deal is reported by Norwegian media to be worth a total of around NOK 200m, and will see Nord divest its holding alongside DNB Bank, 11 Norwegian boroughs and a number of other investors.
Hammerfest Kommune, a northern borough, was the largest shareholder in Barents Naturgass with 28%, while the third-largest shareholder with 8.2% was offshore services business Polarbase.
Nord was said to have been the main driver of the exit, which comes three years after it first invested.
Previous funding
Nord Kapitalforvaltning first invested in Bering Natugass in 2011, when it bought out energy supplier Troms Kraft.
Company
Established in 2005, Barents Naturgass is a regional gas company which sells and distributes liquid natural gas in northern Norway.
