Sequoia leads $1.5m seed round for Mapillary
Sequoia Capital has led a $1.5m seed round for Swedish map crowdsourcing business Mapillary, alongside London-based Playfair, Wellington and LDV Capital.
In addition to the VC backers, a number of business angels also participated in the funding round, which will help grow Mapillary's team, services and community tools.
Company
Mapillary is a Malmö-based business offering a service for crowdsourcing map photos. The company's offering allows user to take photos with several different devices and contribute them to a map service akin to Google's Street View.

Roelof Botha is a partner at Sequoia Capital. Jan Erik Solem is the CEO and co-founder of Mapillary.
