Segulah acquires Teknikmagasinet
Swedish mid-market investor Segulah has acquired compatriot high-tech gadget and hobby retailer Teknikmagasinet in the first buyout from the GPтs fifth fund.
The deal sees Segulah V take a majority stake in Teknikintressenter i Norden, which trades as Teknikmagasinet, and bring in Sarah Falk as the new CEO. The company's founders, Jannis Östlund and Urban Printz, along with Teknikmagasinet's management will continue to be significant shareholders in the business following the MBI.
Segulah said multiple expansion possibilities exist for the company, which currently operates a network of shops in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Segulah V's maiden buyout comes 10 months after it was launched with a SEK 5.6bn target. The GP has yet to formally announce a close but, according to a Form D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission at launch, fundraising was not expected to continue for more than 12 months.

Founded in 1989, Teknikmagasinet is a Swedish retailer of gadgets, high-tech, novelty and hobby items based in Stockholm.
The company operates 119 shops and employs 400 people in Sweden, Norway and Finland. It reported revenues of around SEK 900m for the year ending April 2015.
People
Partner Henrik Lif and investment manager Oskar Oxenstierna worked on the deal for Segulah. Jannis Östlund, Urban Printz and Bengt-Åke Printz are the founders of Teknikmagasinet. Sarah Falk is the company's new CEO.
