Industrifonden and SEB sell Cobolt to Hübner Group
Swedish government-backed investor Industrifonden and SEB Venture Capital have sold laser maker Cobolt to German trade buyer HУМbner Group.
Hübner, a systems supplier to the transportation industry, will acquire Industrifonden's entire 39% stake in the deal, as well as SEB's.
The exit concludes a 14-year investment for Industrifonden and SEB, which first invested in the company in 2001, alongside now-defunct venture fund CR&T Ventures.
Cobolt will retain its Swedish operations following the transaction.
Previous funding
In March 2001, Industrifonden, SEB and CR&F participated in a SEK 12m early-stage investment round in Cobalt.
Company
Headquartered in Solna near Stockholm, Cobolt is a maker of high-performance lasers for use in biomedical research, metrology and material science, among other applications.
