Creandum leads $3.1m investment in Small Giant
Swedish venture capital investor Creandum has led a $3.1m funding round for Finnish game developer Small Giant Games.
Other backers in the round included PROfounders, Spintop Ventures, Capital A Partners and a group of private investors, including Gregory Milken and Risto Siilasmaa.
The fresh capital will help the developer launch its first game, Oddwings Escape, a flying game with a planned release scheduled for early 2015.
Previous funding
The start-up raised $750,000 in a seed round in October last year.
Company
Founded in 2013 by a group of Finnish game designers, the Helsinki-based team planned to release its first game this year for Apple's iOS, but have since pushed back its launch to early 2015.
People
Daniel Blomquist led the deal for Creandum, while Timo Soininen is the CEO of Small Giant.
