EQT invests in Touhula
EQT’s mid-market fund has invested in Finnish pre-school and daycare centre Touhula Varhaiskasvatus.
EQT acquired its majority stake from Coronaria Hoitoketju. The company's current shareholders, Cor Group, Finnish Industry Investment and Norvestia, will retain minority holdings following the transaction.
EQT will support Touhula's national expansion as well as the development of its daycare concepts.
Company
Founded in 2010, Touhula operates 80 pre-school and daycare centres throughout Finland. It operates through two brands, Touhula and Aarresaari, both of which focus on high-quality education, claiming to encourage physical activity and adventure.
The company operates within the Finnish welfare services provided by municipalities, with the majority of its daycare centres employing a voucher model. The voucher system is designed to ensure equal access to private daycare to all Finnish families.
