IK sells off Dynea divisions
IK Investment Partnersт portfolio company Dynea Chemicals has sold its Norwegian division Dynea to Eltek Holding.
The transaction also sees the sale of Dynea Hungary, 50% of the shares in Nordalim, 34.5% of the shares in Krystal and 33.3% of the shares in Borzod Chem-Krems Chemie Formalin.
IK first invested in Dynea in September 2001. The original investment saw the pan-European private equity house simultaneously acquiring Kemira, Dynea and Sydvenska Kemi to form a global speciality chemicals group.
Company
Dynea produces resins, adhesives and hardeners. The products are used by the panel board industry, laminate beam and structural wood manufacturers, the mineral and glass fibre industry and the paper impregnation industry.
The company has 13 production plants in 11 European countries and employs 620 people. Dynea is headquartered in Helsinki and in 2011 reported total sales of €826m.
