
Industri Udvikling takes minority stake in East.dk
Danish mid-market investor Industri Udvikling has bought a 37.5% stake in East.dk, a designer and producer of womenswear.
The remainder of the business will be retained by its original founders and owners.
East will use the capital raised through the share sale to support continued growth in exports.
Industri Udvikling's investment was made through its DKK 500m Industri Udvikling IV fund. The vehicle, which closed in November 2014, has a DKK 190m commitment from the Danish government, through Dansk Vækstkapital.
Company
Founded in 2007, East designs and manufactures womenswear for 80 Danish and international brands, mainly in northern Europe.
Although it is headquartered in Ikast, the company's main operations are based at its Chinese design and production facility in Guangzhou.
East employs 135 people and reported pre-tax profits of DKK 5.8m in 2013.
