Inventure leads €500,000 seed round in Yoogaia
Finnish VC firm Inventure and angel investors have injected тЌ500,000 into online yoga start-up Yoogaia.
Inventure is reported to have committed around €300,000 of the total investment in this most recent funding round, which added to almost €100,000 raised through a successful crowdfunding campaign that ended in July. The Finnish fitness business raised €92,172 from 81 investors on the crowdfunding platform FundedByMe, in exchange for 4.60% of the company's shares.
The fresh capital will help the Finnish start-up expand its service to countries outside of Finland, where it currently claims to have thousands of users.
Yoogaia expects to launch its subscription-based service to a global audience in November this year, and is in the process of expanding its team.

Based in the start-up hotbed of Espoo near Helsinki, Yoogaia offers subscription-based fitness instruction by webcam and video, allowing customers to train in their own homes.
Founded in 2013, the company's offering includes live and recorded classes in yoga, pilates and kettlebell. The company plans to release more fitness activities next year.
