Autobutler raises €5.8m in expansion capital
Index Ventures and existing investors have injected €5.8m into Autobutler, a Danish online marketplace for car maintenance.
Existing investors taking part in the funding round include British VC Dawn Capital and Swedish investor Creandum.
The latest investment round comes just a year after the company raised DKK 30m from Creandum, which allowed it to enter the German and UK markets.
Martin Hauge, general partner at Creandum, told unquote" that the VC invested slightly less than its pro-rata entitlement, diluting its shares in the company to a little more than 20% and allowing Index Ventures to increase its holding.
Autobutler operates in six European countries and will use the capital injection to expand its current business, primarily in the UK and Germany, including increased marketing and product improvement.
Company
Founded in 2010, Autobutler connects car owners with garages and mechanics through an online marketplace, allowing customers to compare the prices and credentials of participating garages.
Car owners looking for repair services choose the service they require and repair shops send price offers for the service in question.
Autobutler also helps garages market their business and grow their customer base, as the site includes user reviews of their services.
The company has 62 employees and operates in the Scandinavian countries, the Netherlands, the UK and Germany.
People
Peter Oxholm Zigler and Christian Legêne founded the company and are Autobutler's CMO and CEO, respectively. Ben Holmes is a general partner at Index Ventures and will join the Autobutler board as part of the deal. General partner Martin Hauge worked on the funding round for Creandum.
