Alder backs Powerbox
Alder has invested in Sweden-based Powerbox International, a manufacturer and distributor of power converters and associated products.
New majority owner Alder acquired 60% of the company via its Alder Fund I. Existing backer Industrifonden, along with current and previous employees of the company, will remain minority shareholders in Powerbox.
The fresh capital will be used to grow in certain geographical markets, mainly in Europe and the US, as well as in focused market segments.
Alder contacted the company directly to initiate the deal.
Previous funding
The founding family Fredmark owned the company prior to the transaction, together with Industrifonden, current and previous employees, and management.

Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Gnesta, Sweden, Powerbox develops, manufactures and markets power supply solutions in Europe, the US, Asia and the Pacific.
Powerbox operates via two channels: Powerbox, which manufactures customised and standard power converters; and Craftec, a design-in distributor of power converters.

Henrik Flygar led the deal for Alder. Pelle Hallberg is the CEO of Powerbox. Per-Olof Mannerford is the CEO of Powerbox.
