
Vaaka Partners' EMC Talotekniikka buys Arealtec
Vaaka Partners' portfolio company EMC Talotekniikka has acquired Finnish building automation company Arealtec.
Management and previous owners will remain in their positions. The value of the company has not been disclosed.
EMC managing director Kimmo Liukkonen highlighted that the automation capability, brought by the acquisition, meets demand for compliance with stricter energy requirements.

Arealtec, established in 1994, provides building automation systems, managing indoor conditions with a focus on energy efficiency. Based in Vantaa and Hyvinkää, Finland, it employs 41 permanent staff and recorded a €4.3m turnover in 2010.
EMC Talotekniikka, founded in a 2007 merger, but tracing back to 1925, provides building technology services. Based in Helsinki, Finland, it employs around 330 staff and recorded €50.1m net sales in 2010.

Partner Ilkka Pentikäinen is responsible for Vaaka's investment in EMC. Kimmo Liukkonen is managing director of EMC.
