Via Venture Partners, the Detail Data management team and the new CEO, Peder Falck have, through a jointly-owned holding company, performed a BIMBO of the entire shareholding of software company, Detail Danmark A/S. Via Venture Partners has invested DKK 18.3m, together with a debt financing of DKK 15m. The acquisition gives the venture firm a 50% stake in the business. The deal marks a generation shift, a new CEO and bringing in an outside investor to accelerate growth internationally. The new capital will enable international expansion and further development of the business’ software. Via Venture decided to invest because of the belief in the business’ products and sector, as well as internationalisation potential outside Denmark.

Company

Founded seven years ago, Detail Data delivers an end-to-end software solution for retail clients, including a web-based backoffice system that integrates directly into ERP systems. It records DKK 40m in revenues and clients include retail chains within the clothes and fashion segment. The business has 30 employees spread between three offices in Silkeborg, Køge and Stockholm.

People

New CEO, Peder Falck joined the company on 1 January this year, following Frank Fredelund Nielsen who has stepped down as the director of the business, but will continue to hold a seat on the board. Svend Carstensen is the chairman. John Helmsøe-Zink, of Via Venture Partners will also take a seat on the board.
