CapMan acquires The North Alliance
CapMan has agreed to invest in The North Alliance (NOA), a network of seven communication, design and technology companies in the Nordic region.
CapMan will own 63% of NOA following the deal, while the current owners of the seven companies will retain stakes in the businesses. The transaction was financed with a senior secured bond, with ABG Sundal Collier acting as sole bookrunner and manager.
The network comprises Swedish agencies Åkestam Holst, Great Works, Bold, Promenad and Knock; Danish agency &Co; and Norwegian design and technology company Making Waves. The companies will be wholly owned by NOA following the deal, while keeping their independent brands.
NOA's structure allows it to expand operations within each country while taking advantage of cross-selling opportunities, according to CapMan. NOA aspires to compete with large multinational players and CapMan could potentially grow the network via acquisitions in the future.
Company
NOA will offer Nordic and international clients communication services with advanced digital solutions in their service portfolio, positioned towards the high-growth digital segment.
The network has a combined turnover in excess of €50m and currently employs 450 people based in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, New York and Krakow.
People
Espen Stenumgård, partner at CapMan Buyout, led the deal. Thomas Høgebøl is the former head of McCann Worldgroup in Norway and newly appointed CEO of NOA.
