Verdane’s Babyshop.com acquires Babyshop Norway
Nordic direct secondaries investor Verdane’s portfolio company Babyshop.com has acquired retail chain Babyshop Norway from the founding Floberg family.
The deal was financed with capital raised through a share issue completed in relation to the November acquisition of AlexandAlexa.com from MMC Ventures, backed by the GP's Verdane VII fund.
Verdane bought Babyshop in 2010, when it acquired stakes ranging between 10-20% in a portfolio of six internet companies from Aggregate Media.
Babyshop Norway adds to previous bolt-ons to the Babyshop group, AlexandAlexa.com and Oiidesign.se, consolidating the group's presence in the Nordic premium children's fashion and products market.
Company
Founded in 1992 by the Floberg family, Babyshop Norway is a retailer of fashion and products for children. The company is headquartered in Billingstad and has 15 stores across the country.
