
Sunstone Capital holds second close at EUR181m

Sunstone Capital A/S has held a second closing of Sunstone Life Science Ventures Fund II and Technology Ventures Fund II, attracting approximately EUR21m in total. The second closing brings the total commitment to both funds to EUR181m.
Investors
New investors include Sampension Private Equity FMBA, which invested in both funds, and Finnish Industry Investment Ltd, which invested in the technology fund. Private investors also participated in the round through a feeder fund managed by Carnegie Private Banking. The first closing included institutional investors Industriens Pension, Nordea Liv & Pension, Tryg i Danmark, MP Pension, Lonmodtagernes Dyrtidsfond and Danish state-backed Vaekstfonden.
Investments
The fund's capital will primarily be invested in Nordic early-stage companies in the life science and technology sectors. Sunstone aims to invest in approximately 20-30 companies over a three to four year period. In its first year, Sunstone has thus far made eight investments from these funds.
