Nordic Capital buys Resman from Verdane and STI
Verdane Capital and Statoil Technology Invest (STI) have sold Norway-based Resman to Nordic Capital in a secondary buyout.
Nordic Capital invested via its eighth fund. The €3.5bn vehicle closed on its hard-cap in December 2013. The GP stated it plans to invest in the further development of Resman's products and increase its sales effort.
Verdane claims to have grown Resman's revenues by 70% per year since first investing in August 2006.
Company
Founded in 2005 as a spinout from Sintef Venture and STI, based on technology developed by Sintef and the Institute of Energy Technology, Resman provides wireless oil reservoir surveillance. The company claims to have installed its intelligent tracer systems in wells for 40 oil and gas operators.
Headquartered in Trondheim, Resman has further offices in Brazil, the US, the UK, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. The business has 65 employees and generated turnover of €25m in 2014.
