EQT picks up Færch Plast
EQT has acquired Danish plastic packaging company Færch Plast from Færch Holding.
The deal saw EQT acquire the company via its sixth fund for an undisclosed sum. The Swedish private equity firm will support Færch Plast's growth organically through additional market penetration and via add-on acquisitions.
During the last five years, Færch Plast has invested in its production automation and new product development. EQT stated it had followed the company for several years prior to the deal.
Company
Founded in 1969, Færch Plast provides rigid plastic packaging for ready meals and protein food trays in the UK, Scandinavia and Benelux. It employs close to 500 people mainly based in Denmark, the Czech Republic and the UK. Færch Plast expects its turnover to reach DKK 1.1bn and EBITDA to hit DKK 236m in 2013.
