CataCap acquires Handicap Befordring
CataCap has acquired Handicap Befordring, a Danish special care transport services company.
The transaction, which sees CataCap picking up a majority stake, also sees Handicap Befordring merging with Colum-bus to form a new entity.
The investment will support CataCap in its acquisitive growth strategy as it aims to expand the business to new municipalities and regions.
Danish private equity firm CataCap held a first close on DKK 500m in December 2012 for its maiden buyout fund, which is focused on backing local SMEs.
Company
The newly created entity Handicap Befordring provides special care transport services for handicapped and elderly persons, and pupils with special needs. The company's turnover is just less than DKK 200m. The company operates 235 specially configured busses under the Handicap Befordring banner.
People
Frank Nissen and Michael Flex, the owners of the two companies, will each retain a 40% stake in the new partnership and will continue to serve as CEO and COO, respectively. Per Gullestrup, partner at CataCap, will become chairman of the board.
