
Capidea invests in Broen-Lab
Danish GP Capidea has acquired a majority stake in Broen-Lab, a Denmark-based manufacturer of taps and showers for laboratories and industrial customers, in a carve-out from parent company Broen.
The deal will see Capidea invest alongside Broen-Lab CEO Jesper Torp as well as Jan Sindesen, the former owner and CEO of hospital equipment supplier Dameca. Sindesen will join Capidea's board as chairman as part of the investment.
Capidea's investment was made through Capidea II, a DKK 725m fund aimed at investments in small and medium-sized Danish companies with revenues in the DKK 50-500m bracket.
Company
Broen-Lab develops, produces and sells taps for professional use, such as in laboratories. It also supplies emergency shower systems and other safety services primarily sold to the pharmaceutical, food & beverage and education sectors.
According to the most recently available public information, Broen-Lab had revenues of DKK 463m in 2013, with net profits of nearly DKK 77m.
Based in Assens, the company was split into a separate division under parent Broen in 1980 and employs 71 people.
