Nordic Capital in Bladt SBO
Nordic Capital has acquired Danish steel contractor Bladt from Maj Invest and Industri Udvikling.
Equity was invested from Nordic Capital Fund VII, and gave Nordic Capital a majority stake thought to be between 70% and 100%.
Partner Lars Terney stated that Nordic Capital intends to grow the company in new geographies and consolidate Bladt's position within the European market.
Previous funding
Maj Invest initially invested in Bladt in 2001, and held a 35% stake in the company by the time of exit. Industri Udvikling took a 35% stake in 2007. Bladt management held an unknown stake in the company.
Company
Bladt operates as a steel contractor and specialises in large-scale and complex steel structures. The company mainly focuses on the wind and renewable energy sector, but is also active in the oil and gas industry, and with infrastructure projects.
Headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark, Bladt employs 300 staff and recorded EBITDA of DKK 181m from a DKK 1.7bn revenue in 2011.
