
Capidea buys Xstream
Danish private equity firm Capidea has acquired a majority stake in streaming software company Xstream.
The fresh capital will be used to support the company's international expansion.
CEO of TDC, Lars Torpe Christofferson, also invested in the company and will become its new chairman. Xstream's former owner and CEO Frank Thourp will remain in his role and as a significant minority shareholder.
Company
Based in Copenhagen, Xstream provides streaming solutions to international clients including Telenor, Canal Digital, SBS Discovery Media and Disney. It specialises in premium television offerings and "TV everywhere" services. Its streaming management software is called Xstream MediaMaker.
The company employs 90 people and reported profits of DKK 11m in 2013.
