Segulah takes majority stake in Sandbäckens
Swedish GP Segulah has acquired compatriot heating, sanitation and sprinkler systems business Sandbäckens.
The deal saw the GP invest from its Segulah V fund to acquire a majority stake in the Linköping-based company. Earlier this month, the fund held a final close on SEK 2.4bn – half of its initial target – after management changes at the firm had resulted in a new strategy.
Segulah said it planned to grow Sandbäckens organically and through acquisitions following the MBO, as well as continue to develop the company's products and services.
Sandbäckens will be the fifth buyout for Segulah V, which was 40% deployed after its first four acquisitions. Managing partner Henrik Lif told unquote" he expected the fund's capital to be deployed at a similar pace to previous vehicles, bringing it to full commitment more quickly.
Company
Founded in 1993, Sandbäckens is a heating and sanitation contractor, as well as a sprinkler systems and industry service provider.
Headquartered in Linköping, the company employs a staff of 400 and generated revenues of SEK 647m in 2015.
