Spanish government to launch fund-o
At the end of June, Spain's president, José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero, announced government plans to increase research and development by 2010. As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Trade & Industry plans to launch a private equity fund-of-funds through the CDTI. According to the government, this fund will be set up over the next few months and should be operative by January 2006. It will receive E200m of public money and will finance approximately 130 technology companies over the next four years.
