Spanish Government to launch m edia fund
It has been reported that the Spanish Government is about to launch a private equity fund with the aim of supporting the audiovisual and cinematographic sectors in Catalonia. According to published sources, the new vehicle will be called Invermedia and will have Euro30m at its disposal. It is believed that the Generalitat de Catalunya and financial institutions are equal investors in the fund. The Generalitat will invest in the fund via a captive company called Institut Català de Finances (ICF), as well as through institutions, some of which will be linked to the audiovisual sector. The launch of Invermedia is in keeping with its policy of supporting the industries, which it has already done in the past through the ICF.
