Unirisco plans new private equity firm
The private equity firm Unirisco is planning to set up a new firm called Uniinvest, which will be formed by around 16 Spanish universities. Uniinvest will in turn create the I+D Unifondo fund, which will have a capital base of around €12m, and will carry out seed capital technology investments into high growth areas and business initiatives within the university sector. Unirisco’s shareholders include the three Galician universities, Caixa Galicia, Caixanova, Banco Pastor, Banco Português de Investimento and Constructora San José
