Quadrivio's Directa Plus to float on AIM
Directa Plus, backed by Italian buyout house Quadrivio, has announced its intention to float on the AIM segment of the London stock exchange.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the Italian graphene-based materials producer decided to float on the London stock exchange because of the greater liquidity and the abundance of competitors compared with the Italian market.
Following the offering, the company intends to use the fresh capital to boost its international expansion through a new manufacturing plant in Asia and to bolster its product development.
Cantor Fitzgerald Europe will act as adviser and broker for the company. The announcement follows the merger of Quadrivio's venture capital vehicle TTVenture with Intesa Sanpaolo's venture capital funds.
In June 2009, Directa Plus raised a €3m series-A round form Quadrivio, through its TTVenture fund, alongside venture capital firm Como Venture and Italian holding company Finanziaria Le Perray.
In April 2015, the company raised a €5.5m series-B round from private investors alongside existing shareholders, including Quardivio providing a €500,000 equity ticket to the round.
Directa Plus was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Como, Italy. The company produces graphene-based nanoparticles used for manufacturing carbon materials, and employs 20 people.
Its products find applications in the consumer and industrial markets, including the textile, environmental and sports sectors.
