Italmobiliare nears full Clessidra ownership
Italian holding company Italmobiliare has inked the acquisition of Milan-based GP Clessidra for €20m and appointed Carlo Pesenti as non-executive chair and Mario Fera as CEO.
The transaction process started in January 2016 with the untimely death of Clessidra founder and CEO Claudio Sposito.
Following the recent approval from Bank of Italy, Italmobiliare acquired a 99% stake in the GP for €20m, while Sposito's widow Manuela del Castillo will retain a 1% stake.
The deal saw Pesenti appointed as non-executive chair, while the firm's recently hired director and former Italmobiliare adviser Mario Fera will be promoted to CEO. Further appointments to the company's board are former Unicredit CEO Federico Ghizzoni, alongside former Hedge Invest CEO Alessandra Manuli, and Galeazzo Pecori Giraldi, former head of private investment banking at Société Générale. Furthermore, the GP appointed Marina Brogi as chair on the statuatory board, alongside Francesco Di Carlo and Alessandro Grange.
According to local press reports, the GP is expected to relaunch the fundraising activity for its third vehicle, Clessidra Capital Partners III, and reach the next closing before the end of November 2016.former CEO at Hedge Invest
