Simmons & Simmons hires two in Milan
International law firm Simmons & Simmons has appointed Paola Leocani and Nicholas Lasagna as partners.
Leocani and Lasagna join the firm's financial markets practice in Milan from White & Case. According to a statement, Leocani will focus on debt and securitised derivatives, liability management transactions and equity capital markets, while Lasagna will advise clients on leveraged finance, acquisition finance, bond private placements, syndicate loans and debt restructuring finance matters.
Prior to the role, Leocani and Lasagna both worked at White & Case as equity partner and local partner, respectively. Leocani previously worked at law firm Allen & Overy, first as an associate for eight years and subsequently as a partner for seven years.
Lasagna joined White & Case as a partner in 2011 from Latham & Watkins. Prior to that, he worked as a senior associate at Clifford Chance.
The hire follows the recent closure of Simmons' Rome-based office in 2015.
