Portobello promotes Dolz to partner
Spanish fund manager Portobello Capital has promoted its director Carlos Dolz to partner.
Dolz joined Portobello's team as it span out from Ibersuizas in June 2011, working initially as an investment director. During his career at Portobello, he worked on the GP's investments in Laulagun Bearings, Vitalia, IAN, Multiasistencia and The Ice Cream Factory, according to the firm's website.
Between 2001-2011, Dolz worked as a director at Ibersuizas. Prior to that, he started his career at Spanish stainless steel manufacturing conglomerate Acerinox, where he initially worked in the Madrid office from 1996-1997 and subsequently moved to the Hong Kong office and then to the Singapore office.
Portobello recently launched its fourth vehicle, which held a €500m first close in July 2017 and expects to reach the €600m hard-cap by the end of Q3 2017, unquote" understands. The vehicle has already inked its first deal with the acquisition of five Spanish companies operating in the dental care segment: Unidental, Laser 2000, Dr Senís, Avadent and Realza Capital-backed Plénido Dental.
