Fenera to raise three funds-of-funds
New fund manager Fenera & Partners has announced it will launch three funds-of-funds in April.
Each of the vehicles will be launched with a target of €50m, Unquote understands.
The three vehicles will invest in international private equity, private debt and real estate funds. Giacomo Stratta has been appointed CEO and Alberto Savio president of the new firm.
The firm was founded by Fenera's executive vice-president Giacomo Stratta and manager Pietro Mazza Midana, and is based in Turin.
Shareholders include Fenera Holding, which will invest €15m, increasing the capital to €40m by 2022; Banca Sella, with about €20m; and some institutional investors.
According to Stratta, the firm will mainly invest in international funds, but does not exclude the possibility of investing a minority part of its capital in Italian funds operating within attractive and highly profitable sectors.
"Fenera & Partners intends to invest in funds managed by well-known international firms, such as Blackstone, Apollo and TPG, but also in smaller GPs with solid records and specific know-how, active in highly profitable niche sectors," said Stratta.
The firm's CEO told Unquote that Fenera plans to adapt its product offering to different targets, embracing both the international market and the less developed Italian market, which still retains a higher level of liquidity than other markets.
